Conversion and upgrade of two identical buildings with the status of ‘protected city view’ into high-end apartments
In the characteristic neighborhood Amsterdam-Zuid in Amsterdam Bureau Fraai completed a conversion and upgrade of two identical buildings with the status of ‘protected city view’ into high-end apartments. New apartments are added by redesigning the lay-out and partitioning of the existing apartments.
For the renovation and upgrade the wooden window frames are restored and renewed with care and respect accordingly with the existing details. The main staircases are redesigned with an allure fitting the new refreshed apartments. An elevator is added into the building to make all the apartments more accessible.

For the new interior the apartments are provided with contemporary, big and luxurious bathrooms and open kitchens.
The use of contemporary colours and materials together with the existing details gives a well balanced atmosphere creating various unique harmonious apartments.
